1. Eat Well.
Leafy green vegetables, lean proteins, Omega 3 fatty acids and vitamin C have been shown to help prevent eye disease in the long run.
2. Stop Smoking
Not only do you increase your chances of developing conditions such as Macular degeneration and cataracts, but you also end up with brownish looking eyes when you smoke.
3. Wear Sunglasses
Protecting your eyes from harmful UV rays will reduce your chances of getting cataracts and other vision threatening conditions.
4. Reduce Computer Use
We’ve talked about this one a few times. If you don’t have to be in front of the computer, don’t be. The chances of developing myopia increases quite a lot if you spend hours and hours in front of the screen. It’s even worse now with people watching TV on their laptops.
5. Wear protective eyewear
DIY injuries are more common than you think. Gardening, playing sport, drilling, so much can and does go wrong, buy a pair of protective eye goggles at your hardwear store, better safe than sorry. We can provide prescription protective eyewear as well.
